Feeder race for the Queen’s Cup will try something new for 2012, starting in South Haven at 7:00pm on Wednesday, June 27th.
Area 4 Shoreline Championship
Consists of the best four of five finishes by section in the following
races:
- SHYC Invitational (6/2,3) -
- MBYC Commodore's Cup (6/23,24) -
- GRSC/MYC Commodore's
Invitational (8/25) -
- MYC Governor’s Cup (9/1,2) -
- AMYC Anchorage Cup (9/8) -
High point scoring by section will be used to determine the results.
Offshore Series
Consists of the best three of four resuts in the following races:
- Tripp
Memorial (6/27)
- Queen’s Cup (6/29)
- Clipper Cup (8/10)
- Anchorage Cup (9/8)
Scoring
will be low point by section and overall. Area IV sections will be determined after entries are received. Races will be
rescored based on these sections breaks, relative to only the boats participating in this series.
Area 4 Boat of the Year Series
Note: Boats entered in both the Shoreline and Offshore
series are automatically entered in the BOTY series. No extra fee.
Consists of the best six of eight results
from the following events:
- South Haven Invitational
- MBYC Commodore's Cup
- GRSC Commodore's
Invitational
- MYC Governor’s Cup
- The four races shown in the Offshore Series above
High point scoring by section will be used to determine the results.
Area 4 Lake Michigan Championship Series
Consists of the best six of eight results from the following
events:
- South Haven Invitational
- Chicago NOOD (6/8-10)
- Tripp Memorial
- Queen's
Cup (6/29)
- Chicago to Mackinac (7/21)
- MBYC Commodore's Cup
- Chicago Verve Cup
(8/10-12)
- MYC Governor’s Cup
High point scoring by section will be used to determine the results.
Aries Trophy
Awarded to the boat with the best finish, in section, in the Chicago to Mackinac
race. Must be entered in an Area 4 series to be eligible. Ties will be broken by standings in fleet.
High Point Scoring Notes
Each race will be worth twenty points for first in
section. Example: 10 boat section at the NOODs. Each position is worth 2 points. 2 points for tenth, 10 points for
fifth, 20 points for first.

20*((# of boats in section - your placing)+1)/# of boats in
section
Result is rounded to whole number - .5 or higher rounded up - less than .5 rounded down
The organizing
authority for each regatta determines the sections (not the Area IV Offshore sections).
