LMSRF Area III is a Steering Committee composed of two delegates from
ten Race Organizing Authorities.
Since 1973, this Committee has coordinated the offshore sail racing activity among the various sponsoring organizations.
This allows for the establishment, publication, and distribution of a common Notice of Race, Rating Sections, Special Sailing Instructions, Race Schedules, Entry Forms, etc., all of which may be found in the annual race book.
The term Area III defines the Committee's geographic bounds and which, as designated by the
parent organization Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation, is from Pleasant
Prairie, Wisconsin to St. Joseph, Michigan.
LMSRF is this region's only yacht racing association officially recognized by
The United States Sailing Association (US SAILING), the
national governing body for the sport of sailing.
Area III racing is serious competition for: LMPHRF, Farr40, T-10, JAM, J/105,
Sydney 38, Beneteau 40.7, Buoy races, Port-to-Ports, and Post-race Parties!
